About
Televisual (RSS) investigates visual culture and media industries in the age of convergence — from film, television and web video. As media converge, so follows visual culture, meaning we all must be polyglots.
Televisual has been linked to or quoted by The New York Times, NPR, The Atlantic, Gawker, Jezebel, Queerty, AfterEllen, Shadow and Act, Racialicious, among other publications.
To learn more about the site, please see the Essays page and Web Series page, which compile important articles.

I’m a doctoral candidiate in communication at the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania. I research new media and production — including web shows, vlogging, film and television – write freelance articles, and occasionally delve into other visual and curatorial projects. I have been published in Newsweek, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, The Root, the journals Transformative Works, First Monday, Cinema Journal and Communication, Culture and Critique and contribute film and TV reviews and pop culture commentary to the websites AfterElton, Tubefilter, among others. I ran the small-but-proud Film@Perelman program and lectured on film at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I occasionally film small video projects.
